I walked the plank of self hatred
Into the ocean of God’s love
And my friends I have been made new.
Despite my anger, righteousness and
Sanctimonious attitude,
My friends I am made whole.
In all things be thankful
The journey was painful
The path was so lonely,
Humbling, terrifying, and sad
But God is the Victor
His love does overpower
His love is much stronger
Than my self-hatred
I choose love and I thank you
All over, and over, and glad that it’s over
And glad that it is finished.
