When stress enters
Like an angry ape
The cortisol comes like
A sordid snake
Which in turn adds pounds
Upon pounds to my waist.
Like dominoes this puts
The old thumper in woe
And the heart sinks
With despair clouding the air
Not only for image grim
But also for air sucking in.
And my solution is . . .
Aerobics scat, scoot, scram
Let yoga come in like a lamb
All soft on the outside
Yet vibrant and strong
And my body will come along.
Now meditate and concentrate
And think of goodness, compensate
The ugly worry and sordid strain
With loving thoughts of health to gain.
This is the path, I choose to center
And leave behind the angry dissenter.
