a chore aid. As if cleaning the dishes
Was almost religious.
Maybe an offshoot of
The old cleanliness next to godliness
Adage, which isn’t even in the Bible;
Or so said a girl I didn’t like.
She spoke with such confidence
And quiet dignity
I couldn’t help but
Admire her, despite my dislike.
So now when I think of
Labels, I remember
How my personal feelings
Were shifted by confidence.
Oh to model that
Which you desire
And to find something
Worth keeping in every instance.
