Personally, I love the line . . . “to suffer the ignorance of those who lie to you for their own personal gain”
All too often I’ve been lied to so others may gain a sense of superiority. The loss of dignity I feel is worth far more to me than the gain that others may feel. That is, until I realized that they are sad and insecure and otherwise hurting people who don’t have the courage to face their pain. Instead, these people make themselves feel better by putting others down or holding them to standards that they, themselves do not meet.
